[vc_row thb_divider_position=”bottom”][vc_column][vc_column_text]Investigating and combating the phenomenon of hate crime<\/i> is the aim of S.A.F.E. \u2013 Strategies for the Achievement of Fairness and Empathy<\/i> ,<\/i> an international exchange project, which takes place in Palermo, where thirty young people between 18 and 25 years old from France, Italy, Poland, Spain and Hungary meet to reflect, through non-formal educational activities, on the reasons for hate crimes and the ways to recognise, prevent and combat them.<\/p>\n

Despite the need to deal with different cultures, society is unable to adapt quickly enough, often generating episodes of violence. Hate crimes<\/i> are defined as crimes driven by prejudice, aimed both at the person involved and at the community to which he or she belongs. These actions include crimes generated by racial, religious, gender prejudice, towards sexual orientation, towards people with disabilities.<\/p>\n

Objective of S.A.F.E.<\/i> is to combat in particolar racial and religious discrimination, and therefore fight extremism and hate crimes<\/i>. Specifically, the activities promoted by the project aim to increase young participants’ awareness of the dangers of these phenomena, promote the building of positive relationships between young people from different backgrounds, develop the skills and attitudes necessary to recognize and act correctly when faced with a hate crime <\/i>finally stimulate correct use of digital devices<\/i> and social networks.[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery thb_columns=”small-6 large-2″ lightbox=”mfp-gallery” images=”22668,22670,22672,22675,22677,22681,22686,22690,22694,22698″][vc_column_text el_class=”project-footer”]Links:
